Freedom – true, absolute freedom of mankind – is one of the most critical aspects that *must* be followed by any government we live under from a purely religious point of view. Why is that…?
Our Creator endowed us with an absolute free will. That Creator of ours hardly had to do so, but rather did so in gifting us with a most blessed concept and a commandment for how mankind must live: Free, in every conceivable way imaginable. Therefore, we who live in democratic societies must NEVER vote for authoritarian or some such governments or politicians. Remember, Hitler was elected to office by the German Republic – he did not suddenly seize power by a coup de tat.
And so we must remain ever mindful to never give up the freedoms we have earned and have commanded by our Creator. Frankly, it scares me when a democratically elected leader says things like they wish his people acted like the North Koreans in worshipping that leader, or else they should have a lifetime appointment to office, as recently happened in China. This is definitively not to get political here – it is a simple reaction to unthinkable words to anyone who believes our own Creator gifted and desired immutable free will to all. When a leader says they are having a deep love affair with a North Korean leader who had his own uncle – and so many others in a purge that would fit right in with the Purge films and TV series – killed in unthinkable, horrific ways: The uncle’s nephew, O Sang-Hon was burnt alive by a flame thrower; the uncle and another official? Death by anti-aircraft machine guns, before being burnt to a crisp by… you guessed it! Flamethrowers.
We must forever keep our most basic rights to absolute freedom, and condemn and refute or resist any and all who would take that away from us in any conceivable way. For, again, it is what our Divine Creator almost demanded of us by gifting us with absolute free will. This means that, as adults, we should be able to engage in any way so long as no others are truly negatively effected by said action. We simply must forever retain that freedom, one we still haven’t reached as of yet – many actions are considered illegal and banned that should not be.
Whether this means gay marriage, women’s rights, minority rights or whatever. Even the so-called “War on Drugs!!!!!”, in going after primarily marijuana, a substance that hardly has any worse repercussions than alcohol, denies us that freedom to make that choice for ourselves. I also firmly believe we have a right to make decisions which might eventually harm ourselves – like smoking or other such things. As long as no one else faces harm from it, that choice is our divinely gifted right to make for ourselves as sentient adult beings.
Now as to why this absolute freedom is so important from my own perspective of the Creator Creating by way of Simulated Reality…? Well then, look no further than my previous posts on our existential purpose and the reason we were so Created: To have our Creator “cultivate” as many DIFFERENT sentient conscious beings as was possible. A distinct removal or lack of those freedoms as human beings…? It also takes away our right to be so very different! Think on the worst authoritarian states of human civilization: They one and all sought to find a human population that was little more than brainwashed robots who were one and all the same.
This stands in absolute opposition to our Creators intentions and desires for us as human beings. Therefore, any such authoritarian or limitation on our freedoms is almost standing as an enemy to the ways of our Creator and that Creator’s intentions and desires for us to enjoy. A positive side effect of this was surely creating as many distinct human consciousnesses as proved possible, in creating a veritable rainbow of human sentient individuals to enjoy our afterlives in our Creator’s higher plane of existence alongside the rest of mankind that have passed from this Earth in something much like a garden of unique and exceptional intelligent conscious beings.
So we must therefore always resist any and all efforts or laws aimed at taking away any such freedoms – and equally so, promote and ensure passage of such laws to ensure freedoms exist for us. Should one live in a distinctly authoritarian state today…? Then one must always seek to resist in any way possible – because God commanded it be so – in seeking to restore a government of absolute freedom for one’s citizens.
You simply cannot have truly different and distinct sentient consciousness develop under such authoritarian governments. They seek to cling to their power by developing a populace of identical sameness, brainwashed into “behaving” and worshipping that government and its “Dear Leadership”. This is utterly wrong and downright offensive to our Creator’s intentions for us to ALL enjoy.
The “utopia” on this Earth of ours comes from a civilization based on absolute freedoms for all the many billions of us. We must seek this out and ensure it to be just so. Again, anything else goes directly against our Creator’s designs and desires for us to have at this point in our civilization. We must all seek to become ourselves: who we are meant to be. This means following whatever path, no matter how strange or outlandish it might seem, so long as no others are harmed in so doing.
So just remember: Our freedoms are a divine commandment by our Creator, one we must all seek for ourselves and all others who share this Creation with us. It ensures our afterlife will be as truly spectacular as possible, populated not with sheep of absolute sameness, but rather as distinctly different and “themselves” as proves possible. Our freedom is something we must fight for, no matter what. If not for ourselves, for our children and all those that inherit this Earth from us. They must know absolute and complete freedom for themselves, just as we should know it today for ourselves.
We’re now beginning to get much deeper into things, as this post contains one of what I feel is the most central ideas to this entire body of work: Perceiving the all of human civilization much the same as any other singular maturing entity. Meaning…? It progressively grows and advances, maturing all the while, in being able to stand as something fundamentally changed from what it once was.
An idea of a linearly+progressively evolving -maturing- human civilization should not be seen as some excuse or desperate bid to explain away or dismiss certain aspects of older religious teachings. Rather, it is evidenced in every single other aspect of Creation itself: Human beings… or, for that matter, all known life. Stars and planets, alike. The whole universe!
For all things in our humble little slice of reality, there is both a time to be born and a time to die. In between those two, absolutely nothing exists in some static state, wholly unchanging all the while. To expect that Creator would imbue human civilization with such an impossible trait found nowhere else seems most irrational, just on its face.
Next up on our agenda? One might begin to wonder, “Why doesn’t God step in and make His wishes known to us directly, just as He once did so long ago?” In my eyes, this is an utter absurdity for anyone to realistically expect – it would completely, irrevocably disrupt our entire existence. It would also be exactly the same as a parent stepping in to “reparent” their 50-year old adult child… no less, with that parent’s refusing to step back, let go and allow their offspring to ‘sink or swim’ doubtlessly being responsible for whatever his or her present predicaments may be; those problems which require such reparenting, even at the half century mark! What’s more, God simply doesn’t need to do any such thing! – most certainly not when He can influence and direct the very same desired outcomes, only doing so from “behind the scenes,” as it were.
There appears to be a good many here in our world today who seem to expect that, in their mind, God’s existence is somehow disproven by the lack of any (relatively recent) direct interactions with us or our forebears. All the more, many a conartist or cultist in such modern times have outright declared that, if they themselves aren’t God and/or Jesus Christ reborn, then God at the very least directly communicates to them – and to them alone! Both of these views -that God must either prove His divine existence to us by way of direct interaction, or that God really is somehow speaking to only one out of seven billion worth- are utterly incorrect, in my estimation… most especially not when God -that higher power/force- doesn’t need to do anything of the sort!
In addition to the notion of human civilization as a maturing, advancing entity (the closest thing to an actual child in relation to that divine Creator), another important idea forming the basis of these existential ideas hinges upon the thought that, “any technology sufficiently far advanced enough will appear indistinguishable from magic” in the eyes of those unfamiliar with such innovations and advancements.
It is a simple notion, just the same as it’s an exceptionally accurate one. Invent a time machine, take your smartphone back only four hundred years, and you’ve got yourself a death sentence for witchery. That’s just four centuries removed from the here and now! Go back a thousand, and cure someone’s pneumonia with a pill? “Burn the witch! What magic is this, vanishing the affliction of the cursed airs?!”
What meaning does this odd idea of “advanced ideas that are indistinguishable from magic” truly have to us in relation to the divine Creator of us all? How can coming from such a perspective be anything other than unrepentant and heretical blasphemying? In my eyes, I suppose it’s all rather straightforward enough:
While I’ve gone on about “advanced technologies or ideas being indistinguishable from magic”…? Any such magic, put in “realistic” terms, simply means various processes or concepts that are yet to be properly understood. In that same sense, seeing our reality as having been Created through something besides sheer magic is neither to lessen or denigrate the nature of our divine Creator – rather, it is only to apply new understandings and knowledge of ours in various ways relating to the nature of our own existence. As a result, it denotes only how we have continued to come further along over time and kept making incredible new discoveries all the while – nothing more than that, and nothing less.
Therefore, there truly, genuinely is no real magic – only a lack of knowledge or comprehension. A magnet offers levitation and defiance of gravity – surely, as much of a magical skill as anything imaginable! We are quite simply imperfect beings living in an impossible world, who are of the sort always desperate to ascribe meaning or understanding to all things: Known or unknown, alike! A consequence of this fantastic inquisitiveness of ours is that, should we come across something that appears to defy our understanding, we must also place it in some form of context or reason – most often resorting to such ideas of outright magic and incomprehension.
Next up comes one of the final pieces of the puzzle as forms the foundation for this here work: The belief that there’s absolutely no sentient being (whether that should involve one divine or otherwise) that makes any Creation completely and entirely dissimilar to anything (and everything) it knows for itself. In other words: Every single Created work is a reflection of its Creator – first, foremost and forevermore.
What’s the meaning I intend to come from this particular notion? Well, much as I’ve detailed previously on these pages, our whole reality has no actual, literal magic anywhere to be found in it (as in that of the “Abracadabra” variety). As a result of this most notable aspect to our existence, so too should we neither expect nor hold that divine Creator to be anything based in some literal form of pure magic. Even so, oddly enough that’s exactly what our current understanding of the divine is centered around in its entirety – how it’s a supreme being existing both in and as sheer magics.
Prior to delving into a more in depth examination of a simulated sort of existence, I’d first like to start out by merely dipping our toes into the murky waters with something of a prologue.
Part of what led me to all of these (admittedly quite strange!) notions was the fact that I’ve long felt as though the countless many immense transformations our world has undergone in recent times should also serve to allow us to better address and/or perceive the very nature of divinity – in entirely new or different sorts of ways. The many advancements coming from such rapid progress as we’ve made of late should not, in my mind, be something exclusively exploited by invention, technologies or whatever else, but might instead easily promise to open up brand new ground in areas that have each proven impossibly mysterious or all but unknowable to our long ago ancestors in the distant past.
I fully realize that the moment any such analogies are encountered as includes the following, then a good many folks might dismiss everything else. I suppose that is what it is -unable to be helped, at least not without also compromising my own beliefs+personal credibility, or else significantly detracting from my fundamental points and concerns- but the reason why I still lean so very intensely on these very same analogies is their singularly unique capability of presenting these otherwise inexplicable concepts in a manner relatively easily understood by those currently unfamiliar with them, by and large.
This most certainly is not to say that I’d have anyone out there left believing that I personally think we’re all nothing more than some perverse “living video games” – believe me, nothing could be *any* further from the truth! What does matter there is the simple fact that these comparisons aren’t just the closest thing we have right now, they’re also the only similar such concept that we might hope to be able to use in order to convey this idea! As our digital age remains in its infancy -and as of now lacking even any realistic virtual reality technologies- the mere idea of having those binary ones and zeroes get used, not just to create actual worlds of any kind, but fully 3D worlds with fully realistic physics based upon ordered sets of rules? Clearly, there just aren’t a whole lot of options from which we might choose just now.
Because, at the end of the day, I do feel it all rather simple insofar as how we “mere mortals” might hope to understand such truly staggering -almost inconceivable, if not downright unknowable- sorts of ideas: As an introduction for those unfamiliar sorts of folks, the notion of simulated realities *as* a reality? Well, put all prior preconceptions aside for a moment and think about those games of ours.
In this particular piece, we’ll be starting out with the most basic of questions: What the idea of a simulation actually is, and just what exactly it might mean to us all.
Really, a simulation only requires the very same things that most any other computer driven operation or process does: To be built upon a set of ordered, clearly definable rules or parameters. That’s it!
We know, for example, that just by utilizing our own technological tools, near about anything can be represented or be made to exist digitally – including a whole entire reality, existing over many billion years! How could we possibly know such madness might be possible? Because we’ve already done it, ourselves!
The question then becomes such: What is our very own reality, if not ultimately the cumulative result of a mish-mash of various physical laws and rules interacting with one another? What’s more, if one were to also know and understand all of those complex natural laws governing our own existence, then there is absolutely no reason that they cannot further be represented and created (or recreated) using a very certain technological means.
And it just so happens that as we know our own reality here to exist as it does, it’s something that does not require an infinite number of manual efforts to produce and maintain that reality (someone constantly having to be in full control, taking various actions themselves in order to drive a whole universe forward, or merely so that it might exist at all.)
Next up I’d have us start looking at how utilizing something akin to a simulation (as we know+understand such a thing to be) offers rather blatant advantages over any, and all, alternative means conceivable. Imagine: Creating a universe that’s the size of, well… an entire universe! It begs the question: Why would any being -whether they be divine or otherwise- ignore the incredible benefits offered by any such simulated methodology, even if they were to possess quite real magic… positively just emanating from their fingertips!?
Among still others, those benefits include an almost inconceivable minimization in the size, time and resources involved with developing any Created universe; a simulation-like Creation also offers absolute and total dominion over it – both in creating an entire universe in the first place, just as much as overseeing and shepherding that reality once it’s been so made.
That said, let’s now go ahead and explore a few of those aspects in more depth.
